Manic Mines is the sixth level in Pac-Man World, and the 2nd level in the Volcano Ruins. This level is the longest in the game, the only level that has two mazes in it and the only level where all Pac-Man Letters are located in a Fruit Door.
LayoutPac-Man starts off on a platform by a mummy-like creature (referred as its main name, Mummy) that emerges from the wall. He then must go down the slide now. He'll reach two Mine Carts and an Apple Door. Pac-Man must pass by the mine carts and break the treasure chest to get the Apple. If he goes back to the Apple Door, he'll find the "P" inside it. He then must continue on.[[Melon|]]
Pac-Man will find himself in the dark. He has to hit a switch to make a helivator appear and after the ride, he must jump on another helivator. He then must face a spider, then touch the Checkpoint #1. He then must jump up and pass a Melon Door, continuing up the stairs and watching out for falling structures. If he breaks the chest open, he can get the Melon and open the Melon Door to get the first "A". After this, he must use a B-Doing to reach a ledge with another B-Doing to get up to platform above, but on his way up there, he must first face a spider. He will then reach Checkpoint #2.
Pac-Man will find himself in an area with 4 mine carts, four ghosts (two on each side) and an Orange Door. Before trying to attempt to chomp the ghosts, he must go down a slide to find a another Orange Door. He then has to pass a few mine cart tracks to find a treasure chest containing the Orange in it. If he wants, he can go back up the slide and open the Orange Door to find a switch that makes some Pac-Dots and two Power Pellets appear. The two Power Pellets are located at the far north and south wall, while the other two have a Health Wedge and another Orange. If he wants, he can collect the other Orange and use it to open the other Orange Door at the bottom of the slide to get the "C". If he were to use the first Orange to open the Orange Door at the bottom of the slide (the one that contains the "C" in it), he could face forsaking the Orange Door at the top of the slide. He then must continue to the right.
Here he'll find more mine carts, Checkpoint #3 and a Galaxian Door that's to the far north wall. He then must go to the right to find a treasure chest containing the Galaxian to open the Galaxian Door and play in a maze. After he finishes it, he must continue on.
In the next area he'll find another Life Wedge and a chest containing another Melon in it. He then must ride the helivator up to a high mine cart track and use another one to get to another mine cart track that's even higher. He then must go up a platform to reach up to the highest platform. If he wants, he can go to the left and open the Melon Door at the far west platform to get the "M" (while crossing another mine cart track). He then must continue to the right to find a mysterious tile on the platform he's standing on. If Pac-Man gets too close to it, it will turn into a brief statue and then turn into a tornado that can hurt Pac-Man (this enemy is referred to as an Ankh). He then must continue on a platform to find another Apple Door and then must cross the platform to take three B-Doings to a high platform. If he wants, he can break the chest containing an Apple and go back to the other Apple Door to to find a switch that makes Pac-Dots and a Chrome Ball appear. After he cleans this up, he must take the same path again but this time continue to the right and hit a switch to make a Helivator appear (there's a treasure chest that contains a life wedge at the far left). After crossing the first helivator, he must ride a second helivator.
Once he gets off the second helivator, he must hit a switch to open the door that's near a mummy. He'll find another Galaxian Door and a small pool of water in it. He first must dive into the small pool of water and swim to find two underwater Treasure Chests. One of them contains an Extra Life, while then other contains another Galaxian to open the other Galaxian Door. This both can be collected by using the far Chrome Ball.
After he finishes the maze and gets out of the small pool of water at the other end, he can break a chest containing a Lemon if he wants to, then he must go to right and rev up the small slide. He'll cross the gap and reach a Pear Door (Also referred to as a Bell). He then must hit a switch by a mummy and take the platform (after he hits another switch that makes another platform move) that moves because he hit the switch at the bottom platform. If he wants, he can take the path to the left to open a chest containing a Pear and open the Pear Door to get the second "A". He then must take the same path as before but this time take the path to the right and take another helivator up to a chest that contains and Extra Life. Once he grabs it, he must go to the left and watch out for various traps. After he crosses the final trap, he'll pass by a Banana Door. He then must continue to the right and watch out for the rotating flames and then make it to a maze with a few ghosts and Chomp-Chomp (the friend) trapped in a cage at the far north wall. He must hit the switch to make some Pac-Dots and 2 Power Pellets. Along with this, he must collect 2 Bananas. There are 5 in total, but he only needs 2. He then must backtrack to the Banana Door and open it to hit a switch that makes a helivator appear. He then must ride the helivator to find the Key at the platform above (turns into a Life Wedge if the player has already got the key and freed Chomp-Chomp). After he gets the Key, he must go back to the maze and free Chomp-Chomp who will leave a Life Wedge behind.
After this, he must clean up the maze and continue to the right where small lava flames appear in attempt to hurt Pac-Man. After this, he'll reach another Banana Door. He can use his spare Banana to get the "N". After he collects the "N", he can destroy the mummy and bust the chest that contains another Lemon. After this, he must collect the Level Complete Token to finish the level.
